One of the first things that you will need to know is what type of masking tape you need to buy. For example, there are different types of masking tape available for various purposes so before you go out and buy some you will first need to identify what you are actually using it for. For example, there are small pieces of tape for marking and cleaning small parts of equipment whilst there are larger pieces of tape that are used to cover large areas such as a warehouse floor. The first thing that you will need to do is identify where the masking tape can be used on your item of equipment. This can be done simply by writing down its location on a piece of paper. Once you have written down its location then you can either remove the masking tape yourself or if you are confident in your ability to remove it then you should ask a member of your staff to do it for you.

As soon as you have written down its location you will then need to take the tape down and see whether there are any bare wires or steel wires underneath it. If there are, then you will need to take all of the exposed metal apart before you begin stripping the masking tape. Once the strip is removed then you will notice that there are two different coloured pieces of tape, the top piece is black and the bottom piece is white. These two pieces are the masking tape’s face and you will need to remove them from their hiding place on the item before you are ready to continue. Once they have been removed you will notice that the remaining black and white strip is connected to the small steel wire that was at the bottom of the strip.
