Robert Alan Tewksbury was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1940. He was signed out of high school by the Cleveland Indians. He spent four seasons with the Indians, after which he signed with the Chicago Cubs and played the last season with the Texas Rangers. Robert Alan Tewksbury pitched for the United States Military as an Air Force Apprentice later serving with the Air Force in Vietnam. He later worked as a physical therapist with the Army physiotherapists and was awarded the Bronze Star with Two Wings after participating in the Vietnam War. Tewksbury later became a coach at Cedar Crest High School in Cedar Springs, California. He coached the baseball team for over thirty years.
